Two shooters involved in the murder of a property dealer in Chandigarh were arrested in Haryana following a shootout with police. The suspects, Rajan alias Piyush Pehalwan and Pritam Shah, were traced to Kaithal and sustained bullet injuries during the exchange of fire. Police recovered weapons and a motorcycle from the accused. Gangster Lucky Patial claimed responsibility for the murder.
Punjab Police have arrested two more individuals allegedly involved in the recent blast outside the BJP headquarters in Chandigarh, bringing the total number of arrests to seven. The accused are believed to be part of an ISI-backed module taking directions from handlers in Germany and Portugal.

A blast was reported outside the Bakshiwal police chowki in Gurdaspur district, Punjab on Wednesday night. The police launched an investigation, and a forensic team has been deployed to the scene. While no one has reported hearing the sound of a blast, a burnt patch was found outside the chowki. This incident follows a series of other blasts in Punjab this month, including one at the Islamabad police station in Amritsar on Tuesday. In the Islamabad incident, a hand grenade was thrown at a police post in Nawanshahr on December 2nd. The Khalistan Zindabad Force has claimed responsibility for the alleged attack on the Bakshiwal police chowki.
Mann also said that no government office will carry photograph of the chief minister.
Punjab Police launched a statewide operation against drugs, conducting raids at more than 750 locations as the cabinet sub-committee on the drug menace held its first meeting on Saturday. Around 12,000 police personnel were involved in the operation being carried out as part of an anti-drug campaign. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday set a deadline of three months to make the state drug-free. The operation led to the arrest of 290 drug smugglers after registration of 232 FIRs. Police recovered 8.14 kg heroin, 1.21 kg opium, 3.5 kg ganja, 19 kg poppy husk, 700 grams charas, 16,238 intoxicant tablets, injections and Rs 8.02 lakh cash.
Two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and a huge cache of ammunition were seized from them, he said.
